Privacy Policy

Analytics
We use two analytics services to understand how visitors use Pixotter:
- Fathom Analytics — a privacy-focused analytics provider. It collects no personal data, uses no cookies, and tracks only aggregate page views and referrer information. No individual is identified or tracked across sessions. Fathom privacy policy.
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — collects anonymized usage data including page views, referrer information, device type, and general geographic region. GA4 uses first-party cookies to distinguish unique visitors. No personally identifiable information is collected. You can opt out using a browser extension. Google privacy policy.
Client-side processing
All core image tools — compress, resize, convert, crop, watermark, rotate, metadata, and image-to-PDF — process entirely in your browser using a WebAssembly image engine. Images are never uploaded to our servers. The processing engine downloads once to your device and runs locally. We have no technical ability to access images you process with these tools.
AI tools
Background removal and upscaling are AI-powered tools that require server processing. When you use these tools, your image is sent to our processing server over an encrypted connection. The image is processed immediately and deleted — it is never stored, logged, or accessed by us. We retain no copy of the image content. This is stated on each AI tool page.
Website audit tool
The website audit tool fetches publicly available images from a URL you provide. No image data is cached beyond your active session. The tool respects robots.txt directives. We do not retain any URLs or images fetched through this tool.
API
The Pixotter API processes images on our servers. Images are deleted immediately after processing. Logs retain metadata — file size, operations performed, and timestamps — but never the image content itself. API keys are associated with your account; processing logs are tied to the key, not to image data.
Local storage
We store the following in your browser's localStorage:
- Theme preference (light or dark mode)
- Custom presets you create
- Usage statistics (images processed, operations run) — used for the live counter display
- Session history (recent pipeline configurations)
This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to us. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for pixotter.com.
Cookies
Fathom Analytics is cookie-free. Google Analytics 4 uses first-party cookies to distinguish unique visitors — these cookies do not track you across other websites. We do not set any advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. All core features work fully without cookies.
No account required
You can use all free features without creating an account. No email address, name, or personal information is required to use Pixotter's core tools.
Third-party services
- Fathom Analytics — privacy-focused analytics. Fathom privacy policy.
- Google Analytics 4 — usage analytics. Google privacy policy. Opt out.
- Cloudflare — hosting and CDN. Cloudflare serves static assets from edge locations globally. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Lemon Squeezy — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Only engaged if you subscribe to Pro. Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record and handles all payment data. See Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.
Data location
The Pixotter static site is served from Cloudflare's global CDN. AI tool processing happens on servers located in Germany (Hetzner data center, Falkenstein). No image data is stored persistently in either location.
Children
Pixotter is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Pixotter after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
